“Touch is like rain…if we can find ways to let it be a regular part of our lives, we can root, grow, and flourish”

— Robert D. Sheeler, M.D.

What is Massage Therapy?

Massage is defined as the manual and scientific manipulation of tissue (as by rubbing, kneading, or tapping) with the hand or an instrument for the purpose of establishing and maintaining health and promoting wellness . Massage therapy has been used for healing purposes all over the globe for thousands of years.

Currently there are over 80 methods of massage that have been classified. The massage methods that we have become most familiar with in modern western society are based on the techniques from Chinese books on massage adapted to western medicine. In the past 30 years there has been an increase in the desire for many to find alternative and complementary therapies to manage their health. This is because of the great benefits without the side effects that are usually attached with what can be prescribed by western medical doctors. Massage therapy is used for people of all ages, from infants to the elderly, and all ranges of health. Being part of the complementary and alternative health care field is my passion.

I hope to share my passion with you!
